Islamic Literature
Islamic Literature uses alphabet in Semitic script, making it very difficult to translate. Because of this, Islamic literature does not hold a strong presence in the west. There are, however, a handful of well-known pieces of Islamic literature (‘Koran’, ‘Thousand and One Nights’, ‘Arabian Nights’ to name a few).
Arabic Poetry
Arabic poets use distinctive poetic structures within their work. The poems are almost always constructed utilizing mono-rhymes, rhymes that are used throughout the entire poem.
