Danger to the Society of Islam
There are several reasons why it is very difficult to hear modern style of music from the culture of Islam. Music is a melodious flow that not only stimulates our brains, but also our entire body and even our organ system. It affects movements of our body from a small move like tapping our feet or fingers to a big move like shaking the entire body. Music also affects the growth of our emotions, like alertness, excitement, and sadness that could lead to some psychological changes. These kinds of alterations in us are even easier with the modern style music because most of it deals with themes of love, freedom, fornication, and drugs.
AS A RESULT
Since, the holy book of Qur'aan that leads muslims says to forbid the fornication, drugs, nor alcohol, music, which carries totally contrary ideologies to Islamic Shariah values, had to be prohibited in the Islamic society. The only melodious words that may be called a song or a music are hims that remind the Islamic Shariah values and maybe some very emotionless, cold jazz music like "bebop" by 20th century German composer Louis Andriessen.

Rude to the Society of Islam
In the society of Islam, the role of women is almost absolute. It may be just a little bit different in different countries, but mostly women have to be completely submissive to their husbands and fulfilling their husbands' needs in the same time. With this total submission to their husbands, women in the society of Islam have many restrictions in their lives, such as not being able to drive, not being able to reveal most of their faces, or not being able to talk to another person unless they are spoken to.
AS A RESULT
Since there are so many restrictions, especially the ones that have to do with revealing of parts of their bodies, it is extremely difficult for Muslim women to become belly dancers. It could only be seen egregious from the perspective of Islam. However, there are Belly Dancers in Islam society.
